Another way of life? To be a religious today

nederlands | français

What is ’Religious Life’? What are the differences between religious congregations? What is a novitiate? What are ’vows’? For many people, religious life represents an alien world beyond the horizon of everyday experience. Some think of ’self-denial’ and ’renunciation’, others of unceasing prayer and of high monastery walls.

Religious life however is essentially none of those things: it is a form of committed Christian life in community, a ’Christian discipleship’ - timeless in one sense, though ever-changing and renewing itself. Our evening event provides answers to some basic questions on religious life: Four religious will give witness of their way of life and present their congregations.
